Piercing Minors

We do not offer piercings for children under the age of 12.

• Yes, a parent must be present during the piercing appointment in order for us to pierce any minor. We must have proper documentation present to pierce all minors.

• To pierce any minor we must have the minor’s birth certificate, photo ID for the minor, and a photo ID for the parent/legal guardian present on the day of the appointment. These restrictions are set in place by our insurance provider and the county of Riverside and we cannot make any exceptions. 

• Upon scheduling, you will have the option to upload a photo of the minor’s birth certificate. This photo must be legible, well lit, and must show the entire document. If you upload a photo of the minor’s birth certificate, then you will not need to bring it into their appointment but a parent must still be present on the day of the appointment with their photo ID and the minor’s photo ID. Failure to upload/bring in all required documentation will result in a last minute cancellation fee of $30/30 minutes scheduled. 

We must have a valid, government issued, photo ID to pierce anyone over the age of 18. A school ID and birth certificate are not an acceptable form of documentation for anyone age 18 and up and parental consent does not allow us to pierce clients clients age 18 and up.

This is important for clients of all ages but especially for our youngest clients who are typically unaware of any metal allergies they may have. All of our stud style of jewelry is a style called a labret which has a flat disc on the back of the jewelry. This style is much more comfortable to sleep in, very secure, and does not harbor debris and bacteria in the same way as many other earring styles. 

After getting any piercing it is important to avoid submerging the piercing under any body of water throughout most of the healing process. Bodies of water include baths, pools, hot tubs, lakes, oceans, etc. Running water in the shower is safe for a healing piercing as it will not harbor bacteria in the way bodies of water will. For ear lobe piercings we recommend avoiding swimming for 3-4 months after getting pierced. 

It’s important to keep the original jewelry pierced with in the piercing for the entirety of the healing time so if your child plays sports or may need to remove their jewelry for any other reason, we suggest waiting to get pierced at a time when they can leave their jewelry in at all times. Healing times will vary from piercing to piercing and person to person but on average jewelry will be need to be left in for at least 6 months after getting pierced.
